Now you know why...

The day before Don's parents left, Kambree got sick. She was running a fever and had a cough. Of course, being the great mother I am, we let it go for a couple of days. Finally, after the third night of restless sleep (of course, I am talking about me), I decided I would take her to the doctor.

Well.....she has pneumonia! I was a little surprised, because wouldn't have even thought that is what she had. This was Tuesday, the 13th. She was given an antibiotic and we went back in on Friday for a check up. Well....the doctor was still concerned. So now, we have a breathing machine, plus another medication. We also went for x-rays. We haven't heard what the x-rays showed. Kambree seems to be doing much better, we'll see when we return to the doctor on Monday.

So, now you know why, updating this blog, has been put on the back burner.

Grandma & Grandpa Leavitt

We got a phone call on January 3rd from Don's parents that they wanted to come visit and would be here on the following Monday. Thank goodness, we were in the process of taking down our Christmas decorations.

They arrived on Monday, just in time for the kids to return to school! Darin and Braden were thrilled to give up their beds for a week. We have been informed the couches are not that comfortable.

I got to be their entertainer and chauffer for the next week. We got to go to the Farmer's Market numerous times, the $ store as well. Don did take Friday off and we went for a little drive. It was nice to have them here for a week.

Don's dad had just had back surgery the month before, then got shingles, and is now scheduled for hip surgery next week! I guess it is a good thing they were able to squeeze us in!

Oh! What it would be like......

Way behind!

Are you all amazed to see an update?

For me it seems like once Halloween hits, the rest of the year is gone before I know it. I can't quite figure out why it takes me by surprise every year. I feel like I start preparing and brainstorming early, but I am always on the go until the end. If I was smart, I would start preparing NOW for Christmas this year. But by the time the end of the year comes, so many things will have changed. So, I imagine I will wait once again until October to prepare!!

Here are some Christmas morning shots:

I do need to mention Darin's surprise. His Santa's list was beyond our ability this year, so he settled on a few more reasonable options. He opened ALL of his presents, and what do you know they were the 'reasonable' items he had asked for. I did get him a theatre box of Reese's Pieces, and had very slyly put some money in it. He thought he just got some candy. After a little bit of disappointment and watching his brothers get what they wanted. I encouraged him to open his candy, it still took a little eating before the $$ appeared!!!
